THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOU
- Develop compelling content across a variety of channels to build a strong community around our brand by;
- Assists in the development of the Marketing Communication budget, quarterly forecasts and implements and monitors the appropriate expenditure controls to manage costs.
- Assists in drafting and coordinating regular updates to web content.
- Assists in the content collection, interviewing, coordinating and writing of advertising copy, articles, and features for internal communications.
- Developing the content plan and corresponding metrics
- Maintains writing style guidelines and standards
- Maintains consistency of content.
- Manages online campaigns and contests
- Collaborating with Event, Show, Facility and Entertainment Managers to understand their specific needs and objectives
- Analyzes metrics, measures against benchmarks, monitors trends, and provides ongoing feedback to evolve the digital media strategy.
- Monitors social media activity and ensures a timely and appropriate response.
- Staying abreast of current developments & trends in all relevant industry / technical / professional knowledge areas
- Ensures content supports the brand and is accurate.
- Leads the development of the REAL annual reports by collaborating with different departments and handling confidential information with discretion with media relations by coordinating and conducting interviews.
- Participates in the development and implementation of content marketing plans to achieve the corporation’s short and long-term goals by completing tasks including but not limited to;
- Creating and managing digital content and ensures content is optimized for search and user experience.
- Communicates and liaises with advance ticket suppliers/outlets concerning event/ticket promotion and delivery.
- Monitoring and analyzing digital media and content trends to capitalize on opportunities and make recommendations for change if needed.
- Provides guidance to determine how to market REAL events through website & digital marketing to enhance communications. Works with the Graphic Designer to coordinate marketing commitments.
- Bringing forward matters that affect the REAL brand for dialogue and decision.
- Supports media relations activities
- Lead presentations to internal stakeholders.
- Attends REAL events, both during office hours and after, to monitor and respond to social media activity during events to post updates and answer customer questions.
- Assists with content lifecycle management for all content sources.
- Strong team player with an open mind and commitment to the organization’s success
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated with proficiency for managing multiple priorities
- At least two years’ experience in a content creation role (e.g. shooting and editing video, writing blogs, taking photos and developing photo essays, etc.)
- Post-secondary degree in journalism or proven experience in a similar role with education background in film, communications, public relations or marketing.
- Ability to understand technical issues and translate them into compelling messages.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
- This position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement.
- Ability to write dynamic pieces such as social posts, blog posts and media releases with excellent writing, editing, grammar, fact-checking, and proofreading skills.
- Technology and social-savvy creative thinker and problem solver
- Excellent guest relations skills and the ability to be comfortable and skilled at public speaking
- Willingness and ability to maintain a respectable public image and conduct, interacting with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premier, Adobe Afterworks)
- Ability to set budgets and demonstrate accountability for managing within budget
- Outgoing, friendly and charismatic personality with the ability to influence others
- The successful candidate must also possess and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (CRC).
