Az Owner Operator Jobs

GFL Environmental is looking for an AZ Owner Operator to support our Line Haul Division out of South Western Ontario. The AZ Owner Operator will be primarily responsible for transporting solid waste from transfer stations to various landfills and daily runs to Michigan.
Key Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles daily for mechanical items and safety issues to ensure safe operation and public safety
• Document and log driving/break periods in Kilometers on Daily Trip Report and E-logs in accordance with DOT & MTO Regulations
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, equipment damage and property damage when applicable
• Retain copies of fuel, and border toll receipts, as well as pick-up and delivery tickets to complete daily paperwork
• Document and retain records of all tractor maintenance and complete monthly reporting
• Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation of vehicles, carriage of goods, Hours of Service, occupational health and safety, customs and immigration, weights and dimensions
• Daily runs to Michigan
• Transport solid waste from transfer stations to various Landfills
• Approximately 600Km-1100km a day, 10-14 hour runs
• Insurance, plates, authorities provided by GFL
• Home nightly

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

• Great attitude and work ethic
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Heavy hauling experience is considered an asset
• Must be able to cross US border in a CMV daily
• 3+ years of related AZ driving experience
• High level of personal integrity
• Ability to provide Driver’s Abstract, CVOR Abstract, and criminal background check
• Waste Hauling experience would be considered an asset
• Valid AZ License
