The Niagara Falls office is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentice (310B) to join our team.

Summary Of The Role


The Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentice will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged motor vehicles including but not limited to: performing safety-related functions, using tools and equipment, use of welding equipment, organizing work and documentation, removing and installing vehicle components, surface preparation, applying refinishing materials, detailing, remove and install structural glass, servicing SRS systems, structural repair, and servicing mechanical and electrical systems.


Key Responsibilities


  • Other duties as required
  • Removes, repairs and installs electrical components.
  • Services supplemental restraint systems (SRS)
  • Uses and maintains welding equipment
  • Prepares and applies refinishing materials
  • Applies corrosion protection and sound deadening materials
  • Uses fillers, primers and surfacers
  • Prepares for repair and replacement of structural components
  • Prepares surfaces
  • Cleans vehicle
  • Organizes work and uses documentation
  • Removes and installs trim and weather strips
  • Removes, repairs and installs plastic and composite panels and components
  • Repairs, removes and installs structural components
  • Deactivates and reactivates alternate-fuel systems
  • Details exterior
  • Performs inspection
  • Removes and installs non-structural glass
  • Performs safety-related functions
  • Removes, repairs and installs metal panels and components
  • Removes and installs mechanical components
  • Repairs and replaces interior components
  • Removes, installs and repairs structural glass
  • Uses and maintains tools and equipment


Knowledge And Education Requirements


  • Enrollment in the Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer (Technician) Apprenticeship Program (310B) from a respective College or demonstrated relevant work experience


Specific Experience And Skills


  • Mechanic experience an asset
  • Welding experience an asset
  • WHMIS and additional environmental health and safety training an asset
  • Auto Body and collision repair experience an asset
