Job Description
Activity Aide - Calgary


The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and implementing activities aimed at adults and will assist the Residential Operations Manager in developing, planning, organizing and implementing programs to meet the social, cultural, recreational, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the clients in a residential care setting.


Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To


  • Ensure that each activity is inclusive to take part in.
  • Create activities aimed at adults.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, involving participants and programs.
  • Lead or supervise safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities.
  • Create and facilitate activity plans for each week, plans must include risk management,
  • Plan & coordinate group field trips & events.
  • Maintaining a work appropriate appearance and professional attitude when interacting with clients and co-workers at all times.
  • Complete any other tasks as requested by the Residential Operations Manager.
  • Work closely with co-workers to implement activities.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all participants and staff.


What You Will Need To Be Successful


  • Organized, strong communication and coordination skills
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community;
  • Ability to create organized activity plans, or willingness to learn
  • Valid First Aid, CPR is essential.
  • Problem solving skills in and out of high stress situations
  • Good with the public and enjoy working with adults
  • Be a skilled verbal and written communicator with basic computer skills;
  • Valid drivers license and third-party liability and access to a vehicle;
  • Knowledge of developmental needs and of dealing with difficult behaviours
  • Be able to respond effectively to a flexible, changing environment and effectively manage a variety of tasks simultaneously and handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day;
  • Satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector required
  • Show independent initiative and ability to be proactive in a team environment;
  • Able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and positive attitude
  • Experience with recreation programming


Rotation Available


Rotation 1 : Every other Weekend 8:00am-4:00pm


Rotation 2: Thursday, Friday + Every other Weekend 1:00pm-8:00pm
