Recreation Therapist Rehabilitation I Jobs

Volunteer management and / or experience would be an asset to this position.

To undertake all duties and responsibilities in compliance with Health and Safety standards, guidelines and legislation.

Participate in annual mandatory education as per MOHLTC regulations as well as in-service educational opportunities.

Maintain awareness (at all times) of emergency procedures; participate in drills and associated educational opportunities.

Point Click Care experience an asset.

Certification in Activation Techniques in Gerontology would be an asset

Assesses each resident to determine their needs, interests and abilities within the facility and community

Previous Recreation Therapy experience in a health care facility preferred; experience in gerontology an asset

Proven experience preparing assessments and MDS

Excellent interpersonal skills interacting with residents, families and other staff

Identifies goals and treatment plans and communicates same to members of the Interdisciplinary Team, Residents and Family

Ensures that residents are involved in appropriate recreation activities

Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and accurately handle multiple priorities

Certification in medical terminology required

Graduate from a recognized office/business administration program required

Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service

Ability to take and transcribe minutes

Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health

Provides in-service education as required.

Participates in Respiratory Therapy student education and various in-services for staff and the community as required.

Maintains documentation by ensuring reports, records and workload statistics are complete and accurate according to established departmental standards.

Participates in the interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic/diagnostic strategies and program related issues.

Participates in meetings and departmental committees and contributes to problem identification and resolution.

Performs other related duties as required.
