Detailed Job Description A Medical Records Assistant is responsible for maintaining and organizing medical records in a healthcare setting. They must ensure that all patient records are accurate, up-to-date, and secure. They must also provide administrative support to medical staff and other departments. This includes filing, scanning, and organizing patient records, as well as providing assistance with medical coding and billing. They must also be able to answer patient inquiries and provide information about medical records. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in computer software, such as Microsoft Office
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
• Certification in medical coding and billing (preferred)
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
• Knowledge of medical office procedures
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
• Knowledge of medical records software
