Marine Repairer Jobs

A diploma or degree in an Engineering and/or Technical discipline in Electrical/Electronics or a combination of equivalent education, training, and/or experience.

Knowledge of networking principles and IT skills.

Strong verbal communication and written reporting skills in English language.

Experience, troubleshooting complex marine electronic systems to a PCB level.

Excellent written and verbal skills.

Knowledge of Marine Navigation Systems including radar, gyrocompass, autopilot, VDR & GMDSS systems.

1-2 years of security experience is an asset

Ensure safety and security of the Marine terminal and onboard vessels

Provide K9 Patrol/Protection support in accordance with established procedures

Provide K9 explosive or narcotic detection support

Regular patrols every 1-2 hours

Attend bi-weekly K9 maintenance training

Participates in emergency drills in accordance with Transport Canada regulations, the Safety Management System

Reports non-conformities to the Designated Person (Manager of Fleet Operations)

Minimum four (4) years of relevant maintenance and repair experience

Minimum four (4) years of experience in the marine environment

Demonstrated knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

Candidates, who, in addition to the above, possess specialized skills such as fitting, welding, equipment operating, will be given strong consideration

Annual base salary range is between $50,000 and $60,000 CAD, commensurate with technician’s experience and capabilities.

Use their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems.

Computer networking knowledge (Ethernet, serial communications protocols).

Knowledge of marine navigation equipment including but not limited to radars, gyrocompasses, autopilots, ECDIS, GMDSS, etc.

Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.

Fluent in English (spoken & written). Working knowledge of the French language is a plus.

· Experience as a SIRE or CDI Inspector, Loading Master or Pollution Safety Advisor is an asset.

· Familiar with the regulatory requirements governing the safe transportation of petroleum products by sea.
