Job Skills Required Registered Veterinary Technicians must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well with animals. They must also have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They must also have a strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to recognize and respond to signs of illness or injury. Job Qualifications Registered Veterinary Technicians must have a high school diploma or equivalent. They must also have completed a veterinary technician program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). In addition, they must be licensed in the state in which they work. Job Knowledge Registered Veterinary Technicians must have a strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to recognize and respond to signs of illness or injury. They must also have a strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology, as well as the ability to use medical equipment and instruments. Job Experience Registered Veterinary Technicians must have at least one year of experience working in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or other animal care facility.
