Senior Software Developer Jobs

Eaton’s EPG EAS Electrical Automation Solutions division is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer.

What You’ll Do

This position is located at our office in Brossard, Quebec with 100% remote work opportunities. Candidates must reside in Québec, Canada.

Essential Functions

• Participates in project deployment activities both locally and at customer sites.
• Prepares detailed software verification test plans.
• Lead customer design workshops and internal multidisciplinary meetings.
• Analyzes technical specifications and engineering requirements for complex projects.
• Coordinates all stages of the development cycle in collaboration with the project manager.
• Evaluates new technologies and development tools.
• Designs, builds, and maintains efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Prepares detailed software design specifications according to customer requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 1 or more of the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Experience in multidisciplinary software project management.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in modern C++/C# programming and with the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in leading customer meetings and workshops.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software architecture and design of custom software solutions.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
• Experience with web application design and development.
• Experience with Visio, or an equivalent, to build a well-documented software solution architecture
• Fluency in French and English. This is required for this position in order to communicate with colleagues, customers, and partners located outside of Quebec, as well as to understand technical documentation in the field of our industry.
• Demonstrated understanding of electrical power systems fundamental theory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Member of the OIQ.
• Experience with MFC or .Net framework.
• Experience with C++17 or more.
• Experience in writing and/or designing commercial-grade APIs.
