Rehabilitation Assistant (Part Time) (Northern Health)

In accordance with the vision and values of the organization and under the clinical direction of a Physiotherapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), or Recreation Therapist (RT), the Rehabilitation Assistant functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the client, and supporting the operations of the service/program. The Rehabilitation Assistant carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists with monitoring patients'/residents' progression under the supervision of, and as assigned by, the responsible therapist or appropriate designate. Under the general direction of the supervising manager, the Rehabilitation Assistant also supports the operational and technical functions of the department, service, or program.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days - 08:00 to 14:30, 08:00 to 16:00

GR Baker Memorial Hospital is a full care hospital with 26 acute beds, four ICU beds and five crisis stabilization beds. Some services provided are laboratory, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, home and community care and home support, mental health and addictions, general surgery, internal medicine, otolaryngology (ENT), community cancer care, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, environmental health and speech and language therapy. Visiting specialists in cardiology, pediatrics, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, urology and ophthalmology.

Qualifications

• Valid B.C. Driver's License as required.
• Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
