The Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association is looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to assist in managing our day-to-day operations, including accounting, finance requirements, correspondence, and event planning. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process monthly financial transactions into accounting software, General Ledger (month, quarter, yearend), and preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Answer daily correspondence and phone calls.
• Complete bank reconciliations, bookkeeping assignments, and other routine account analyses following established procedures.
• Prepare GST/HST and PST filings.
• Provide a breakdown of members and chapter lists.
• If applicable, assist with setting up events and keeping track of numbers, etc. Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Experience doing bank reconciliations.
• Experience using Accounting systems, if applicable (i.e., Society Manager, Simply Accounting, QuickBooks).
• Excellent verbal and written English skills and computer skills.
• Previous experience with Society Manager short formed SMWIN, QuickBooks, intermediate Excel Skills, Word, and Microsoft 365.
• Strong communication skills, able to connect with external vendors and stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work as needed.
