Intermediate Web & Graphic Designer

We are seeking an Intermediate Web & Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate is highly motivated and has worked in a creative environment.
The successful candidate will be reporting to 8Twelve’s Art Director and working side-by-side with the mentorship and guidance of our Director of Marketing and CMO. You will develop and produce a range of print and digital assets for various internal and external marketing communications initiatives. This is a full-time permanent position, and it will be in our head office located in Toronto, ON.

Key Accountabilities:

• Understanding and interpreting high-level business concepts/objectives to develop suitable creative graphics for internal or client-facing documents and presentations
• Collaborating with various cross-functional team members to articulate and execute designs
• Contributing to organizational learning and process improvement
• Understand branding to evolve the brand in the right direction
• Create marketing collateral in accordance with brand guidelines. This can include social media posts, ads, eblasts, trade show assets, newsletters, videos, proposal submissions, PowerPoint presentations, corporate infographics, e-blasts, social media posts, newsletters, etc.
• Researching new design ideas and staying on top of new channels/digital social trends
• Working on multiple projects simultaneously and meeting all project/submission deadlines

Requirements
Qualifications and Attributes:

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment and be receptive to creative direction
• Ability to work in a Mac environment
• Mandatory Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) experience
• An ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, tight deadlines, and high-pressure situations
• 5+ years of related experience in an agency or in-house design environment
• Experience in creating website prototypes & user experiences
• Trained eye for detail, colour, typography and layout
• Video editing experience
• A creative portfolio that demonstrates strong aesthetics, design principles and design thinking
• A proven track record as a self-starter who is highly organized and committed to honing your skills
• Solid presentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate design ideas with external vendors and internal teams
• Strong understanding of web and print production requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to express complex, technical concepts in audience-appropriate terms
• Ability to use Microsoft programs (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), including Google Slide and Docs
• Graphic Design diploma or degree (or equivalent)
