Account Manager - Junior Level


This an entry level account management position where the ideal candidate will mentor with National Accounts management to provide effective claims management solutions for an existing portfolio of commercial and personal lines clients.


Job Duties


Working under the guidance and support of a Senior Account manager the candidate’s responsibilities will include the following:


  • Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on claims matters and technical issues.
  • Completion of quality assurance reviews to ensure quality standards are met (minimum of 3 per adjuster per month)
  • Management of a portfolio of client accounts relating to automobile, property, and general liability exposures.
  • Investigation and resolution of complaint escalations, as required.
  • Performance of day-to-day tasks such as responding to client stakeholders, internal stakeholders (operations, sales) and addressing inquiries / concerns as needed.
  • Execution of Best Handling Practices unique to each client.
  • Support achievement of financial and production targets through management of KPIs such as abeyance, adjuster billings, claims response times, cycle times, and account receivables.
  • “Key Contact” point for internal and external Client Stakeholders
  • Weekly review of the operational dashboard KPI targets
  • Meet or exceed service level agreements as per Client contractual obligations.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to effectively deal with conflict and difficult situations.
  • University Degree and/or CIP Designation ideal
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in either automobile or property/liability claims personal lines adjusting. Additional commercial lines experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities in an effective manner.
  • Strong communication skills, including listening, interviewing, negotiating, and must be able to flex style appropriate to audience.
  • Proactive and positive approach to customer service ensuring that all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and an ability to learn new technical systems.
  • Fully licensed in Ontario or ability to be fully licensed in Ontario and other Provinces.
  • All Lines and multi provincial experience a definite asset.
