Video Managing Editor Jobs

Manages the design and post-production of video in the process of concept creation and user experience for Scotiabank Group clients by:

Working with stakeholders to sign-off and release all approved material using project management platforms, video hosting platforms and other appropriate channels

Highly competent in media management including proxy generation for online/offline workflows

Education / Experience / Other Information

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Revising existing creative accordingly and work with managers for sign-off.

Experience in using content management systems is an asset

Excellent reporting and writing skills

Experience writing about the Canadian legal industry

Excellent communication skills, highly organized and self-motivated

Previous newsroom experience, and experience managing a newsroom team of 5 or more

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with team to ensure quality daily production of news content

Experience in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail

Ability to meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements

High comfortability working in Premiere Pro and After Effects (Photoshop and Illustrator are an added bonus)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Must be comfortable working on multiple projects at once

Must have examples of past work (please do not apply if you do not have this)

At least 1 year of video editing experience

Cut long-form content into shorter and more consumable formats

You WILL NOT need to create your own clips from the podcast - we will provide the timestamps

Ensure that all audio is mixed correctly

Edit raw footage into a finished product that meets the client's specifications

Work with producers to ensure that the final product meets the client's expectations

Ability to work independently with direction and have excellent communication and time management skills.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Film, Communications, or Marketing) or equivalent work experience.

Motion graphics software experience such as Adobe After Effects, Fusion, or Nuke Studio.

Knowledge of different video and audio codes and producing video content for various platforms e.g., social media, YouTube, Udemy etc.

Communicate with internal stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and manage expectations.

Help to coordinate the final delivery of video content into a complete education package on various online learning platforms.

Issued certification upon successfully completing the program.

Prior experience working in Adobe (preferred)

This is a remote position but I'd like to hire in Calgary for occasional in person meetings.

Reasonable turnarounds (3-5 days on most video projects)

$25/h 20-35 hours a week.

3+ years experience designing high-quality creative concepts and is comfortable working in Figma, Photoshop

3+ years experience video editing and is comfortable working in Premiere

1+ years experience with motion graphics and is comfortable working in After Effects

Experience with direct response marketing and creating ad content for paid social (Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.)

Knowledge of current creative trends within the user acquisition space

Organize and maintain creative file management

Proven video editing experience and understanding of video editing skills (assembly, titling and colour correction)

Experience with FrameIO an asset

We have a yacht named Sweet Thing moored at Richmond BC Canada

We are be doing a Vlog aboard Sweet Thing to generate interest in the company.

The clips are approximately 15 minutes in duration.

We have shot about one hours worth of video to date.

We would like to create three episodes from the videos to post to YouTube

Experience with Photoshop, After Effects, Frame.io, and Slack is highly desirable.

At least 2 years of experience editing YouTube videos.

Experience with short-form content is a plus.

Detail-oriented and Strong Communication Skills:

Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro is required.

Familiarity with the Google Workspace (Google Drive, Sheets, Docs etc.) is essential.

Experience in a professional services environment including in a management role;

Experience using legal document management software;

Report on company performance and identify issues that affect daily management;

Working with the team to manage the daily operations and resources of By Lawyers Canada.

You will work closely at layout time with our creative-director and copy-editor.

You will primarily work from your own desk.

This can be a salaried or a contract position.

Utilize your creative and technical skills to enhance the overall visual appeal of the videos.

Minimum of 12 months of experience in video editing.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Knowledge of motion graphics and visual effects is a plus.

Position: Experienced Videographer and Editor

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of 3-5+ years

Proven work experience as a Video Editor, showcasing a strong portfolio of edited videos for YouTube and social media content

Candidates must have knowledge of camera operations for both still photos and video, and knowledge of lighting and composition

Location: open to people in the GTA

Work-term: Full-time with option for part-time

Basic knowledge of video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve).

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
